BULLDOG SPEECH TEAM - WESTERN TRAILS CHAMPS

The Bulldog speech team traveled to Western Trails Conference on February 8th in Kimball. Having not won sweepstakes yet this year (earning 1st place as a team), the Bulldogs looked for redemption. Their strongest competition included students from Hemingford, Bayard and Mitchell. Bridgeport took 15 students to the meet in Informative, Persuasive, Entertainment, Poetry, Extemporaneous, Humorous Prose and Serious Prose. The students competed in two rounds before finals were announced. Eleven members of the team broke through to finals - ensuring them a medal as well as needed team points. At the end of the day, the trophy looked to be up for grabs between Bridgeport and Hemingford, but in the end Bridgeport took the gold.

Devor O. -- 3rd place/Extemporaneous
Alex C.-- 7th place/Extemporaneous
Ashley L. -- 4th place/Informative
David K. -- 7th place/Entertainment
Katie V. -- 4th place/Persuasive, 4th place/Humorous Prose.
