1st Grade Field Trip-Bird Banding at Wildcat Hills

First grade got on the bus first thing in the morning on Wednesday,September 19. They traveled to the Wildcat Hills where they took part in the Migratory Bird Banding program. The day was cloudy, chilly, and breezy so the birds did not cooperate. They were not able to band any birds but still managed to have lots of fun. They played a game that taught them about the different body parts and habits of birds, went on a scavenger hunt, took part in the discovery center, and hiked through the park. Despite the weather, the day was a great experience.
