Mrs. Haeffelin -- Hard Working and Humorous

Mrs. Haeffelin earned her AAS (Associate of Applied Sciences) from Eastern Wyoming College and her BS (Bachelor of Science) and MA (Master of Arts) from Chadron State College. She has been teaching for eighteen years, and we have been fortunate enough to have her in Bridgeport for all but one of those years. Mrs. Haeffelin enjoys fourth graders because of their age (around ten); they are willing to try anything. They try very hard and work to please. The history and writing curriculum is fun for her.

Anyone wishing to earn "brownie points" with Mrs. Haeffelin could supply her with Black Walnut ice cream or anything green. Think twice before you challenge this teacher to a game of tag, because she has been a die hard fan since childhood.
Mrs. Haeffelin's hobbies include art, reading, and puzzles. She also enjoys family camping trips (but not without her trusty travel trailer), and riding mountain trails on a mule -- a Kawasaki mule, that is. Mrs. Haeffelin loves to spend time with her chihuahua, Paco. In his eagerness, he keeps the leash taut as they walk. One sunny day, their usual spectacle of Paco pulling and Mrs. Haeffelin in her sunglasses prompted a first grader to ask, "Are you blind?"

An interesting tid-bit you may not have known about Mrs. Haeffelin is that she had a pet fawn as a child. Also, she didn't start college until twenty-one years after high school graduation, which proves that determined people can do difficult "stuff". Don't think it's too late and lament the fact that you 'never' got your education! Go for it!
And, (brag, brag), she has a grandson who is a bonafide rocket scientist.
Good Luck on the 2007-2008 school year!
