All-State singers bound for Lincoln

“In this best of all possible, best of all possible worlds…” Two
local Bridgeport High School Students have achieved one of
Nebraska’s highest choral honors: ALL-STATE! From getting the music
this summer, and practicing long hard hours, to trying out at 7
o’clock in the morning, Titus Kautz and Angela Wickard accomplished
what has not been done in many years at Bridgeport High School.
Out of the entire state of Nebraska 3,000 high school students
audition for their chance to be accepted to the All-State Band,
Orchestra, and Choir. Out of this 3,000 only 300 are chosen for the
Choir. Titus and Angela were the only two from Bridgeport to
audition for All-State, and were overwhelmed with excitement when
Mrs. Roberts told them the fantastic news!
“I almost didn’t try out, because I wasn’t sure if I would be good
enough. But I learned that with hard work and determination
anything you set your mind to can be possible!” Angela commented on
her big accomplishment. “After trying out last year and only
getting alternate, I was discouraged from trying again this year,
but when I heard the news I cried!” Titus stated. Titus also was
chosen as an alternate for the All-State band, with his
bari-saxaphone.
The duo will be traveling to Lincoln November 15th, to participate
in the All-State clinic, and will perform in the concert on the
17th.
Congratulations Titus and Angela and Good Luck in Lincoln!
