The FCCLA Buddy Beside Me program
has been off to a great start this year. The program allows high
school members involved in FCCLA to spend their time helping 2nd
graders to read better. The members help the students with
pronunciation, vocabulary, and an overall review on the book that
they are reading. With the help of FCCLA, the student’s reading and
test scores have sky-rocketed, sending them to 3rd or 4th grade
reading levels.
Many high school members devote their study halls on a particular
day of the week. Those participants involved on Mondays are: Ashley
L., Jaicee P., Caitlin D., Katie V., and Nicole H.. On Tuesdays,
members include: Kendal H., Leicy F., Satchell H., Alexa L., and
Renae J.. Thursdays readers are: Ti W., Charlee W., Kodi H., Emily
P., Leigh C., and Caitlin H.. Members reading on Fridays are:
Natalie H., Tess H., Nicole H., Laramie G., Emily W., and Taylor
H.The FCCLA Buddy Beside Me Program is a very effective program
that will continue to help the elementary students improve their
reading skills.
