Bridgeport girls’ basketball teams have another great week

December 1st was a day of a game against fierce rivals, the Bridgeport Lady Bulldogs and the Bayard Lady Tigers. Bridgeport won the contest 39-24. The game started off slow with Bayard leading with two inside shots to put them up 4-0 in the first two minutes of play. Natalie Hadden made the first shot for Bridgeport making the score 4-2. At the end of the first quarter the score was 4-5 Bridgeport. The second half Bridgeport scored 4 more points to Bayard’s 1 point. At the end of the first half the Bulldogs had a 9-5 lead. The third quarter was looking better for the Bulldogs, scoring nine points to Bayard’s seven making the score 14-23. The game was coming to an end. The Bulldogs would have to step it up in order to take the lead for good. Making a few quick baskets in the first few minutes put the Bulldogs up to a 28-20 lead. Making their last nine free throws ended the game, with the Bulldogs winning with a score of 39-24. Leading scorer of the night was Renae Jacobson with 10, following closely was Natalie Hadden with 9, Molly Steer and Charlee Wallesen with 8, and following with Ashley Vergil and Manda Steer with 2 points.
The JV Bulldog girl team came up with a win also, beating the Tigers 32-12. Molly Steer had 7, Marissa Steer had 6, Emily Pankowski, Alyssa Peters, and Nicole Hass all had 4, Karlee Palmer with 3, and Manda Steer and Emily Wright had 2.
The Freshman game was on the 3rd against Morrill. The Bulldogs won with a 34-20 win. Alyssa Peters was leading scorer with 15, following was Nicole with 10, Karlee Palmer with 4, Emily Pankowski with 3, and Taylor Huck with 2.
