Cunningham earns trip to State Wrestling

The Bridgeport Wrestlers attended the District C-4 in Ravenna on Friday and Saturday.
Chance C won both matches the first day. The first was over Ainsworth’s Wagner by a pin in :32, the second was over Ravenna’s Ripp with a pin in 1:54. The second day, Chance won his first match against Southern Valley’s Shaw with a pin. Making it to finals Chance lost by a pin to Loomis/Bertrand’s Morten. However, Chance is on his way to the State Wrestling Tournament at the Qwest Center in Omaha on the 14, 15, and 16th of February. Congratulations Chance.
Nick L lost both of his matches. He lost to Hinton of Kimball by a pin in 1:30, and to Richards of Gordon/Rushville by a 2-4 decision. Tyler E also lost both of his matches, losing to Lueth of Chase County by a pin in 4:15, and losing to Acton of Mitchell in 2:22. Shane L lost by a pin to Ainsworth’s Hoover in 1:11. He then beat Hershey’s Terry by a pin in 1:57. Laux lost his last match against Bayard’s Ostdiek by a pin in :54.
Taylor C won his first match by a bye. He then lost his next match to Morrill’s Hudson by a 2-11 major decision. Making it to the second day, Covalt won his first match of the day to Southwest’s Helberg by a pin in :47, then took a loss to Chase County’s Langin by a 4-14 Major Decision.
Chance H beat his first competitor, Culek of Kimball, by a pin in 1:39, lost to his second competitor, Faulkner or Kimball, by a pin in 1:20. Making it to the second day, Hall beat Huston of Mitchell by a pin in 1:32, then lost to Hoevet of Ord by a Technical Fall 0-17.
