Boys basketball team beats Morrill and takes tough loss to Leyton

The Bridgeport boys’ basketball team has had an exciting year, and sub-districts wasn’t an exception. In the first round of the tournament the Bulldogs went up against the Morrill Lions. The boys started off with an inside shot by Destry Sl to put the boys in a 2-0 lead at 7:48. The first quarter was close ending with the Bulldogs owning a 16-12 lead. In the second quarter the Bulldogs started pulling away with a 32-19 lead to enter halftime. In the third quarter, Morrill came back into the game making the score 42-40. The Bulldogs went hard to the basket the next quarter scoring 13 points. The game ended with the Bulldogs winning, 55-53. Points scored for Bridgeport individuals were as follows: Cory F 7, Hardan K 8, Bryce D 4, Jase D 23, Destry S 11, Trevor Z 2.
In the second round of the tournament the boys went up against the Leyton Warriors. The first quarter was a low scoring quarter with the Bulldogs leading 8-4 and the second quarter saw the Bulldogs keep their lead 22-19. The Bulldogs scored 11 more points in the third quarter, raising their score to a ten point lead 23-33. The Bulldogs fell behind in the 4th quarter only scoring 6 points to the Warriors 16 going into overtime with a score of 39-39. Overtime did not go as well for the Bulldogs as they would’ve liked, losing by 1 point 45-44. Cory F 7, Hardan K 2, Bryce D 6, Steven T 2, Jase D 15, Destry S 10, Trevor Z 2.
