Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss
by Melissa Krason
March 12, 2008
On March 3rd, the first grade classes celebrated Dr. Seuss's birthday by having a sleep over in their classrooms. Students could bring pillows, slippers, blankets, etc. and the classroom was rearranged to create a "cozy" environment to relax and read some classic Dr. Seuss books such as "Green Eggs and Ham", "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish". Students created the well-known red and white stripped hat that the cat always wears in many of Dr. Seuss's books. Finally, in the library, Mrs. Widener had green eggs and ham for the children to sample-all in honor of Dr. Seuss!
