Miss Vasquez' class celebrates Spring!

Miss Vasquez' first grade class celebrated the beginning of spring by having a butterfly release party. During their language arts time, they read books about butterflies and their life cycle. They wrote stories about the butterfly release day. They also created butterfly contractions in language arts. For art, they made a butterfly and mounted it on a popsicle stick. Then they made a cocoon out of a toilet paper roll. For snack, they made caterpillar roll-ups (bread and cream cheese) and drank nectar (juice)! They also worked on various butterfly puzzles. In the end, the students went outdoors and released their butterflies. A big THANK YOU to Mrs. Pohl for the caterpillar eggs. A great learning experience for everyone!
