The mission of Bridgeport Public School is to provide a positive educational environment enabling all students to reach their full potential with the cooperation of parents and community.

District Language Arts Mission

Language Arts is responsible for empowering citizens with the ability to process and retrieve information and apply it to all modes of communication in a multicultural world.

District Language Arts Philosophy

Knowledge of reading, writing, speaking, listening, and library skill are essential to a comprehensive Language Arts curriculum. All are active processes to achieve effective communication. Thinking skills are essential elements for teaching students to think through the process of recognizing and applying the skills of selecting, combining, arranging and developing ideas.

Reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills are not necessarily sequential, must reinforce each other, and must be integrated.

District Multicultural Philosophy

The educational process of providing information so all students will develop an understanding and appreciation of the diverse cultures of our pluralistic society.
