Opportunity for Parent Input

Every five years, Bridgeport Public Schools seeks to be accredited by the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA). By meeting accreditation requirements our district has demonstrated to an outside group that we have met high standards.

In order to continue to be accredited, our district will be evaluated by an external team. The team will evaluate our school based upon seven standards. They will measure how well we: establish and communicate our purpose; provide governance and leadership that promote student performance and school effectiveness; provide research-based curriculum and instructional methods; use our assessment system to monitor performance and use the results to improve student performance; use the resources to support our vision and purpose; communicate with stakeholders; and how well we establish, implement, and monitor a continuous  process that focuses on student performance.

As part of this external evaluation, the team would like to meet with parents of our students. There will be a parent meeting at 3:30-4:00 on Monday, February 22, in the high school library. The team will have the opportunity to ask you questions and you will have the opportunity to give them your input on how you think we are meeting the needs of our students. If you think we are doing a great job, please come. If you have ideas on how we can improve, please come.

If you have any questions, please call Kevin Myers at 262-1574.
