Quiz Bowlers win at Mitchell

The Bridgeport High School Quiz Bowl recently competed at the Mitchell Invitational Quiz Bowl Meet, testing their knowledge against Bayard, Gordon-Rushville and host team Mitchell. Bridgeport took an early lead in the competition by defeating Gordon-Rushville with a score of 100 points to G-R’s 60 points. Next, the Bridgeport team took on Bayard, defeating them by a score of 110-50. The last team game of the competition was against the host team Mitchell. Bridgeport had their highest scoring game with 120 points over Mitchell’s 70 points.
The final team results were 1st place- Bridgeport with 330 points; 2nd place-Mitchell with 260 points; 3rd place-Bayard with 220 points; and 4th place-Gordon Rushville with 150 points.
Two members from each team were selected to compete in an all-tourney round with the 1st four out of the eight competitors to answer 3 questions correctly making the all-tourney team. Captain Leigh C. and Taylor M. of Bridgeport both made the all-tourney team along with Vincent B. of Bayard and Taylor J. of Mitchell.

Bryce D., Chance H., Valerie K., Colby S., Dawson H., Jeff P., Nik C., Ashley S., and Janelle K.. The next competition for high school quiz bowl will be in Gordon-Rushville on March 24th for the Western Trails Conference Championship.
