Girls Basketball Wins Sub Districts

On Tuesday and Thursday, the Bridgeport girls basketball team traveled to Gering to compete in the C2-12 sub district competition. The first game was against Hemingford. The lady Bulldogs came out on top with a score of 49-33. Top scorer was Ashley S with 23, followed by Manda S and Tessa H with 10 a piece. Simonne S finished out the scoring with 6. Coach Schluterbusch commented, "We came out and played well as a team. We shot the ball better than we have been and our defense was very good again." Next, the ladies took on a very good Morrill team. It was a hard fought battle with the Bulldogs coming out on top in the end with a score of 39-37. "After a good start, we struggled for over a quarter. At half-time, we had a chance to refocus and the girls came out and played an amazing second half. These girls have an amazing amount of heart and courage. They are great competitors." commented the head coach. The ladies play Friday at Sidney in the class C2-6 district final game against Perkins County. Good luck Ladies!!!
