Summer School's Tech Academy

August 03, 2010

This year in addition to traditional summer school, was the tech academy.  Twenty-eight students from grades 3-6 participated.  Students learned how to use Photobooth and Iphoto to do fun effects with pictures, make a slideshow, and add music.  The 5th and 6th graders even learned how to make their own music in Garageband.  These were quite the talented bunch of students.  They also produced movies using clay-mation, acted out Reader's Theater scripts, did a cooking show explaining how to make cake-in-a-cup, and made a info-commercial selling their solar ovens with which they cooked s'mores.  Sound effects, voice overs, music, and transitions were used in all their movies.
