During fourth hour calculus, anyone will tell you it’s hard work. But when Senior Normajean asks Mrs. Schmunk a question she has been struggling with, Mrs. Schmunk turns around and easily comes up with an x-y plot displaying the question perfectly. This is all possible because of the new promethean technology implemented in the classrooms this year.
“The visual effects are the greatest advantage; it really helps the students picture the questions better,” Mrs. Schmunk says passionately.
Promethean boards have practical applications for students as well.
“You can bring in sources via the internet to help with your work,” comments Senior Colby.
On the other side of school, the one place you won’t think technology is needed is in the weight room. The coaches aren’t really accustomed to using it yet; however, they have great ideas on how it will help the students lift.
“If I find something I like and want to use, I’ll have one of the kids pull it up,” Coach Kraay says.
According to the teachers interviewed, most found that the Promethean boards provide the greatest advantage for visual learners.
Overall, upgraded technology boosts academic performance by allowing for immediate feedback, engagement, and confidence.
