Lady Bulldogs increase record to 8-3

  During this past week the Bridgeport Lady Bulldogs made their record 8-3 with two victories and one loss during the week of January 9th to January 14th. Bridgeport won its games against Leyton on January 10th and against Mitchell on January 14th both played at home. They suffered a loss at Kimball on January 13th.
  Bridgeport defeated Leyton on Tuesday. Bridgeport exploded for twenty points in the fourth quarter to pull away from the Leyton Lady Warriors.
  Bridgeport led by the score of 24-18 at the end of the third quarter, Bridgeport’s Ashley scored 10 points in the final frame to pace the Lady Bulldogs to a 44-22 victory.
  Ashley had twenty total points and eight defensive rebounds. Payton had eight points and one offensive rebound.
  The Ladies were defeated on Friday by Kimball. Despite being outscored 4-10 in the first quarter, the Lady Bulldogs fought back to trail by on two points in the first half.
  Bridgeport’s aggressive defense held Kimball to just two points in the second quarter as well as baskets by Tara. Payton and Ashley helped the ladies get back into the game.
  During the third quarter the Lady Bulldogs outscored the Lady Longhorns 9-7 to tie the score at 19-19. However Kimball would outscore Bridgeport 4-12 to gain the hard fought 24-31 victory on Kimball’s part.
  Brittany and Ashley tied on points with eight points each. Payton had a total of four points during this game.
  The ladies led a victory against Mitchell on Saturday. Bridgeport began by jumping out to a ten point lead by the end of the first half with the score 24-14. Ashley pumped in 13 points and there were two three point field goals from Sydney which helped pace the ladies in the first two quarters.
  A strong defensive performance by Bridgeport held Mitchell to just eleven points during the second half as Bridgeport rolled to their eighth win of the season with a score of 43-25.
  Ashley scored a total of 19 points and had eight offensive rebounds as well as eight defensive rebounds. Sydney had a good game scoring 11 points. Brittany made six of the 43 points, and four offensive rebounds.
  The Bridgeport Lady Bulldogs will play again on Friday January 20th at Sidney and again on Saturday the 21st at Mitchell.
